Golden Temple with Vaishno Devi Tour Details

Arrive at New Delhi IGI airport. You will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

The capital city bridges two different worlds - Old and New Delhi. Old Delhi is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with havelis and formidable forts and mosques. In contrast, New Delhi, a legacy of the British Raj comprises spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Depending on when you arrive you can plan to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Delhi.

In the morning, we will explore both Old and New Delhi. Visit the Red Fort or Lal Quila built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid 17th century when he shifted his capital from Agra to Shahjahanabad. Not far from the fort is the Jama Masjid, Shah Jahan's final architectural extravagance, and one of the largest mosques in India. We explore one of Old Delhi's most eye-catching sights, Chandni Chowk, a colourful market in the city. We then drive down to New Delhi, down Rajpath, the capital's broadest avenue, for a view of Parliament House, the President's House and India Gate. Pushing further south, we visit Humayun's Tomb which inspired the Taj Mahal and the Qutub Minar which stands at a height of 72.5m, one of the tallest structures in the world when it was built in 1199 A.D. Also included in the tour is the Lotus Temple and the Rajghat- cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight in Delhi.

Today morning board your flight for Amritsar. Arrival at Amritsar and transfer to the hotel. Evening visit Wagah Border to watch flag Retreat Ceremony. The parade of the beating of the retreat and the change of guard within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani armed forces here makes the most charming of the spectacles as a daily evening drill. Ascertain the timings before you leave to see this spectacle since these are changed seasonally. Wagah is the only land border open between Pakistan and India. Overnight in Amritsar.

Morning visit Golden Temple - the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds. Also visit Jallianwala Bagh - Martyrs' Memorial built in the shape of eternal flame of liberty is situated on the outskirts of Golden Temple. Here about 1500 and 2000 persons, who were attending a peaceful meeting during the freedom movement fell under the bullets of the British General Dyer on 13 April 1919 in the city of Amritsar. Afternoon drive to Katra (4 hrs drive) and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Katra.

The journey to the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is an enchanting journey of the place, where Mata Vaishnavi had spent some time while observing various spiritual disciplines and penances. The culmination of this journey is at the Holy Cave where she merged her human form with the astral form of her creators, the three Supreme Energies. Overnight in Katra.

Today morning, check out from the hotel. Drive to Jammu to board your flight for onward destination.
