Varanasi with Prayagraj Tour Details

Arrive at New Delhi IGI airport. You will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

The capital city bridges two different worlds - Old and New Delhi. Old Delhi is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with havelis and formidable forts and mosques. In contrast, New Delhi, a legacy of the British Raj comprises spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Depending on when you arrive, you can plan to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Delhi.

In the morning, we will explore both Old and New Delhi. Visit the Red Fort or Lal Quila built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid 17th century, when he shifted his capital from Agra to Shahjahanabad. Not far from the fort is the Jama Masjid, Shah Jahan's final architectural extravagance, and one of the largest mosques in India. We explore one of Old Delhi's most eye-catching sights, Chandni Chowk, a colourful market in the city.

We then drive down to New Delhi, down Rajpath, the capital's broadest avenue, for a view of Parliament House, the President's House and India Gate. Pushing further south, we visit Humayun's Tomb which inspired the Taj Mahal and the Qutub Minar which stands at a height of 72.5m, one of the tallest structures in the world when it was built in 1199 A.D.

Also included in the tour is the Lotus Temple and the Rajghat- cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight in Delhi.

Today morning board your flight for Varanasi. Then visit - The Kashi Vishwanath Temple - also known as the Golden Temple, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of the city. Varanasi is said to be the point at which the first jyotirlinga, the fiery pillar of light by which Shiva manifested his supremacy over other gods, broke through the earth's crust and flared towards the heavens.

More than the Ghats and even the Ganga, the Shivalinga installed in the temple remains the devotional focus of Varanasi. Note : Entry restricted for foreigners. Overnight in Varanasi.
